Kaw Valley Sand and Gravel, Inc. was formed in 1984 by Ben Kates and Adrian Drummond. Kaw Valley has grown over the years and currently operates under the Kaw Valley Companies conglomerate with four distinct divisions: Sand and Gravel, Construction, Demolition, and Landscape Supply.  The Kaw Valley Companies group offers service in these segements of industry across the Kansas City metropolitan area and Midwest Region. 

Ben Kates, owner of Kaw Valley Companies, oversees all aspects of production, equipment and labor.  In 1998, his partner Adrian Drummond left Kaw Valley Companies.  At that time, Mr. Kates' sons Joey and Tim took active roles in the management and operations of the company ensuring continued growth and quality service for the future.
