Where do you get your dirt, sand and gravel? Our dirt is harvested locally on properties that we own. Our sand comes from river dredging, pit mining and recycling. Our gravel comes from river dredging, pit mining and recycling.
What is Finlay dirt?Finlay Dirt is something we discovered during the recycling process. Finlay dirt is a mixture of elements that is produced during recycling. We had the material tested and it is approved as a low volume change (LVC) material. Because this dirt comes off of our Finlay machine we decided to call it Finlay Dirt.
What is low volume change (LVC)?Low Volume Change (LVC) materials have a liquid limit (LL) less than 40 and a plasticity index (PI) of at least 5, but less than 15. These materials are desirable under slabs, foundations, footers and in other applications where it is advantageous to have a non-shrinking and stable backfill material.

Onsite recycling reduces the amount of debris that might otherwise end up in a typical landfill. Onsite recycling reduces jobsite traffic and congestion by reducing or eliminating material being hauled off site. When compared to the alternatives, onsite recycling provides a positive environmental impact and is a desirable eco-friendly green construction technique.

What is a clean rubble landfill?A clean rubble landfill is not like an ordinary landfill where a hole is dug, items are placed in the hole then covered up and left. A clean rubble landfill takes in items such as concrete, asphalt, rock, gravel, sand and dirt. The clean rubble landfill then sorts and recycles these items so that they can be used again.
What are the advantages of a clean rubble landfill?Whether you take your clean rubble to an ordinary landfill or to a clean rubble facility such as ours you are going to incur dump fees. The main difference is that an ordinary landfill uses up precious space by leaving these items in the ground which is a negative environmental impact. Our clean rubble landfill is much different than this because it sorts and recycles these items so that they can be used again. This gives the clean rubble landfill an eco-friendly advantage because it is generating a positive environmental impact via recycling and re-use of materials that would otherwise be left in a hole in the ground.
Does your clean rubble landfill except metal, copper or aluminum? Our clean rubble landfill does not accept steel, metal, aluminum, copper, stainless steel or any ferrous or non-ferrous materials. We do however have a sister company that will gladly pay you to accept and recycle your steel, metal, aluminum, copper, stainless steel or any ferrous or non-ferrous materials.
